Based on the weather and SST so far this spring, when will the bite turn on???? I had my best luck in June last year but I think they were around earlier. Anyone???? [excited]

Don't have a clue. I've only been sharkin once on a buddies boat but I have deep love affair w/Mako meat, pretty much tops in my book. If you need a body keep me in mind cuz I'm not setup at all for shark (flyer, gun, floats, crates, etc) but will kill 1 quite willingly. [grin]
The water is REAL COLD so far. I think it's going to br later.

Terp- Sound good. I'm no Quinn but I muddle by!![wink] I'll let you know when the time is right.
rbr-Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm thinking. Maybe by May those Carolina boys will let a little of that warm water come north of the DMZ to us. We'll see.[grin]

That is something very hard to predict. . . I usually start looking for the bluefish in the middle of may. . . once they show up in numbers, sharks are USUALLY a week behind. Sometimes you have to be willing to run for them. 2 years ago we had to run to 40-50fa. to find them before June 18th.

Late may can be a time to take a larger class of fish in the cooler water, if you run deep, it seems as the water warms up there are more sharks but there size seems to go down as well. The thirty fathom lumps inshore of the washington have historically held large numbers and a large variety of sharks in years past for me thats the spot I like to hit during the shark tournamnet.

my unbeatable, always reliable prediciton for fishing conditions this summer:
repeatedly, there will be a dark front dominant over the region, followed by increasing light conditions. light will build & persist throughout the day, diminishing in the evening when another dark front will push thru the area. strong darkness will prevail until morning, and will repeat.
