anybody see the special on billfish last night on PBS. I just stumbled across it by accident and caught the tail end. Pretty good, fair and balanced report from what I saw, on the plight of billfish and the efforts of recreational fisherman to reduce billfish Kill tournaments and killing in general. Made a good point on the need to kill some for scientific research but I would think the commercial guys could provide all the scientific community would ever need. Also, had a little piece about circle hooks. SOme great above and underwater footage of marlins and sails. Damn those sails are pretty all lit up on some bait!!

yea I missed the beginning but it was a really good show. The main problem seems to be that the US rec and commercial only account for 5% of the catch worldwide. So no matter what we do it will only have a limited affect. We have to get other nations to realize that sport billfishing can provide sustainable development if they stop the usless slaughter of billfish
