4-19-05 fishing report

what a great day on the water..........a little cool but still a great day......fishing on the other hand was real slow. but, i guess that was good for my crew.....catching was more like a chinese fire drill.........lmao. missed alot of bites.....errrrrrrrr. guess i gotta hold a jigging the lines class b4 next trip. first fish in boat was a wahoo, about 20lbs. while i was unhooking the fish my buddy who was steering the boat forgot he couldn't see were he was going if he was looking @ back of boat......ran under left long rigger, trolled it across back of boat, hook caught my right index finger...ouch. pulled all lines in, had a meeting. then started over. got all lines in water planer tripped,3 more knock downs hooked left short rigger. got two nice 35-40 tuna. made another pass of same area, nothing................saw jimmy k arriving late...he put lines in about where i had my hook-ups, saw him hook-up....made a couple more passes through area, nothing. trolled change till about 1:30. called it a day, my finger was needing attention...ride in was great was. a little choppy about 8 miles from beach.

Sounds like we should have come down further and fished where you guys were... The only excitement I got was having my socks thrown over! [grin]

Maybe we'll catch up next time! Glad you guys had some pullage!

caught tuna on 214, caught wahoo on 210.

becky, sorry about your socks.......atleast you didn't go in the drink........maybe we can get a group together for beers next trip.i was in a rush the whole trip. too busy of a life i guess,but still gotta fish.....i'm gonna be on vacation soon.......it will prob blow the whole week............still gonna spend most of the week in KDH just in case i get a calm day.

thanks bill, maybe next time we can get a group together for a few beers......i'm ready to start running out of OI. i hate that drive to HI.......seems like it takes forever.........
