Man what a kick but day. Myself and another IGFA Obeserver fished on a local boat and crushed it.
We started the day pulling away from the dock at almost 9:00 AM.
As we ran out I saw multiple large Dorado jumping and the capt saw the same. Went over to the spot and 15 minutes later I hook a nice sail and pass the rod to Dewey (Other Observer). 4 minutes later tag and release. Shortly there after Capt says Dorado, Big Dorado reel up. so we run about 3 miles to a large Tree log in the water. For the next 5 hours we bail Dorado from 5 pounds to 35 pounds, catch 12 Wahoo biggest was 45 pounds, have a one Blue marlin come in the baits but Dewey misses it and then later have a Blue Marlin so hot he chased the teaser all the way till it was almost out of the water then baity and switch. Bingo a 225 to 250 pound blue one tag and release.
3 foot rollers and pretty flat calm. At one time we could see a school of about 20 to 30 wahoo swimming under the dorado we were bailing.
remarkable day and awesome company.
Ended day with 12 Wahoo (Missed 5 others), 35 Dorado (Biggest 32 Pounds), 1 Triple Tail, 1 for 2 on Blues Marlin and 1 for 1 on Sailfish.
Oh yeah Steve Richardson and the Sniper are here in Venezuala. Small world.
See ya later.
PS Have pictures and will post when I get back to the states.
