9/22 (Thursday) Departed the inlet at 4:30am headed for the Norfolk Canyon in perfect conditions, water was flat...Arrived and began trolling, within 30 minutes the flat line starts singing! Rick picks up the rod and we boat a 50lb YF. The fish took a Sea Minnow...Water was electric blue and very clean 80 deg...Redeployed the lines 20min. later 30lb YF....Afternoon, we found the school and limited out by 2pm, boated 6 YFreleased 1, all 20-50lb class. We also picked up 1 Dolphin. We saw only 3 other boats...This was my best fishing this year! Action all morning and afternoon.
9/23 (Friday) Departed the inlet at 5:15am headed back to the Norfolk Canyon in less then perfect conditions...Choppy and windy...Many more boats on location. Deployed lines and big Strike! reel is screaming! After a few minutes the hook pulls free. This happened (2) times, very frustrating! Fish were big whatever they were...Picked up (2) big Dolphin on a weed line. We couldn't find the school we left the prior day so, we called it and headed back in...Good day, glad we went thursday!
