Anyone know of a good flat to catch tailing redfish around Piankatank, Gwynn's, Rapp, or York areas? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Go by Queens Creek outfitters, talk to Capt. Newsome. He always seems willing to help. I'll be fishing that area all off next week, so I'm cursious what spots are hot as well.

If your looking for tailing fish, you'll be looking for a long time. They don't tail much in our area like they do down further south. Fishing for drum in this area can be hit or miss, so know now that you'll spend a good bit of time blind casting.

If your looking for a place to catch drum, spend your time anywhere near shore, really near as in up close to the bank and in/around the grasses, from Gwynn's down to New Point Comfort and inside Mobjack Bay....basically anywhere off Mathew's Co.

If your looking for flats, they can be found, but frankly you'll have more luck and a better day if you fish from a small boat or a kayak.

For 'put ins' look at Bethel Beach, Haven Beach, Gwynn's Island, and at Bayside at the end of Rt. 14. I think there are also some places in Winter and Horn harbors.

The fish cruise in pods sometimes so watch the surface of shallow water for fish pushing 'v's, that'll be a sure tip off.
