well with 43 hours on the water i have alot to tell so ill break it down like this.
Friday arrived at seagull at 9 PM or so wind was calm outta the east and had lines in by 9:30 we started fishing for bait useing REAL bloodworms and we was catching Spot, Croaker, Roundhead, seabass, sea robins, sand perch, and blueswhich were all nice size (to big for the pins) so we got the bait bucket filled and broke out the big rods and was useing live fish and cutbait and eels at about 11:00 pm or so it happened ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ is all ya heard for the next few hours Sharks everywhere all being in the mid 30 to 40' range and finally with the last one being decked at 4:30 am which was mine with one more run after that but a miss ,,, must say at least 20 to 30 sharks were landed and would of been more but there were some bite offs and broke lines,,,
Ok its now 5am on saturday and time to get everything ready for the brown bomber chum bags hit the water,,, oil slick on top and bottom and Pin rigs went up and the wait was on sun broke the ocean and figured i would get a lil power nap while i wated but not a chance between the blues and birds and i guess the duck pounding the pins it was a busy morning and alot of loss bait then it happend a pup came over the rail maybe like 20 inch caught on the bottom on cut blue then as i was gettin my taggin stuff to get a tag in her they threw her back ,,, then not more than 20 mins later alot of comotion was going on up by the rock so as we know must of been a sheeps head until the guy was running up the rail towards the tee then we seen it must of been a 60+ pound cobia caught on cut spot on a lil beefstick and a tidewater reel knowin this man wasnt here trying to catch them he must of faught that fish for like and hour and she was foul hook at that in the right front fin then it happend line was cut by the fishes gill at the gaff,,, so after we got everything back up and right and had to get the bait bucket full again since all our bait died cause we didnt want that cobia gettin tangled it happened again pin goes off and cobia on again so after 40 mins or so on this one i got the gaff in her and she was 53 inches at 45 pounds and was caught on live croaker ,,so as we were cleaning that one another one smack the hell out of a pin that had a blue on it which im thinking the blue was just a lil to big and that was a miss now that was just the cobes in beteen all that we were seeing and losing alot of Sheeps, Spades, And triggers had a nice school of them on the pillions maybe like 30 or 40, seen some damn big ones too and that went on all day just couldnt get them off the pillions in time and we kept gettin broken off ,, then it happened wind switched sw to w and blowin hard and things got slow even the bait fish stopped and all we was gettin was sea robin one man caught 26 in a row ,, well the night hit and so did the wind and chop but didnt stop the to hook up and misses the next morning with no spades and triggers no sheeps seen but one spade was caught along with a popano so we left around 4 pm so after 43 hours of fishing we did pretty darn good ten it was off for a hot meal and some summer slam wrestling and a well desevered nights sleep.
