BOATING: Yamaha Introduces Four New Propellers

Yamaha Marine Group announced it will increase its propeller offerings as part of its ongoing effort to provide endless propeller solutions to help any boat, from large to small and offshore to fresh water, achieve peak performance on the water. Added to Yamaha’s propeller line up are four new products that are now available through Yamaha marine dealers nationwide.


Saltwater Series HS4™ Propellers with Shift DampenerSystem Yamaha’s HS4 four-bladed propellers are designed for V6 four-stroke and 200 --300-hp two-stroke applications, featuring thrust to plane, planing at slower speeds, and resistance to ventilation in high seas. With the addition of Yamaha’s Shift Dampener System (SDS™), much of the resulting force of an outboard shifting into forward or reverse gear is absorbed, resulting in a far quieter and smoother operation. Made of the highest-quality stainless steel, they are available in 21”, 22”, and 23” pitches in both right-and left-hand rotation (for multi-engine applications).


Performance XL4™ Series for F350 V8 Outboards
Large offshore boats powered by Yamaha F350 V8 outboards, such as express cruisers and walk-around models, require massive thrust to plane and additional propeller “grip” for maximum operational efficiency. Yamaha’s new Performance XL4 four-bladed propellers, featuring a pressed-in rubber hub, offer outstanding acceleration, quick planing, and improved “grip” to help maintain plane at lower speeds, and to help eliminate ventilation, particularly in turns and following seas. They’re manufactured from the highest-quality stainless steel for maximum durability, and available in 15” and 17” pitches, both right- and left-hand rotation.


Performance XL4™ HP Series
Lighter, high-performance, multi-engine, F350-powered offshore boats, such as open fishing or center console styles with stepped hulls, also benefit from excellent acceleration, quick planing, and maximum grip of the water. For these craft, Yamaha has introduced the new Performance XL4 – HP series of propellers. Their advanced blade geometry is specifically designed for Yamaha V8 applications where higher speeds are enabled by a specific boat’s hull design, particularly in multi-engine applications. Featuring a highly-polished stainless steel finish and a pressed-in rubber hub, they are available in 24” pitch, right- and left-hand rotation. Other pitches are also in development.


Saltwater Series XL Propellers with SDS™
Designed exclusively for Yamaha V8 outboards (F350/300), these three-bladed props combine raw thrust, outstanding planing ability and a proven performance signature. With the addition of Yamaha’s patent-pending “Shift Dampener System”, they are now much quieter and offer smoother operation. Made of the highest-quality stainless steel, they are available in 21”, 22”, and 23” pitches in both right- and left-hand rotation (for multi-engine applications).
