The fishing tournament used to be held by and was originated by the Virginia CCA, but most recently was taken over by the Catchin For Kids Foundation that raises money to make holidays special for kids whose family are experiencing hard times. Capt. Rick leads the foundation and event with the support of many faithful volunteers to take the time to set things up, cook the grub and make sure the tournament goes off without a problem.
While the tournament is highly competitive between all the fishing clubs in Virginia, at the end of the day it's all about having fun on the water and getting together to celebrate that good time after over food and drinks.
A big congratulations go out to the Portsmouth Anglers Club who took first place, our own Team Tidal Fish for putting in a strong effort for second and Tidewater Kayak Anglers for pulling in third!
