From May 16 until June 1, anglers can keep 2 stripers from 18 to 28 inches, or 1 at 18 to 28 inches and 1 larger than 28 inches per day. Wind, wind and more wind! Seems like the wind just won't subside for any length of time this spring. Blustery weather has made for challenging and uncomfortable fishing conditions on Chesapeake Bay and its tidal rivers. Anglers who have braved the elements have managed to catch some fish, but action will improve significantly as soon as the wind backs off.

Big striped bass have been trolled up and chummed up at the Chesapeake Bay Bridges, and just north of the Bridges. Finally, the weather improved, and so did the fishing! Summer-like temperatures in the mid to upper 80s increased the water temperature and the striped bass bite came on strong on Susquehanna Flats, with some anglers reporting dozens of fish a day. While most have been 3- to 10-pound male fish, a few behemoth female stripers to more than 50 inches have also been caught and released. Productive lures have included soft plastics, spoons, stickbaits, and ...

Striped bass action has been reported at Susquehanna Flats, Calvert Cliffs and out on the bay. While only a few fish have been caught on the flats and in the Susquehanna River, it appears that action is on the upswing and will hopefully come on strong as the weather improves and the water warms. The bite has been strong with quality ...
