    Shawn,
Nature is putting on a pretty special show near my house in Great Falls, VA. I don't know if you've been in the midst of a blue heron rookery on a boat before but there is alot of action. And not just bird action. We've caught some decent largemouth and smallmouth there. I saw the first chick appear in one of the 100 or so nests the other day. I've got a feeling that in the next week or two things could get even more interesting with fledglings jumping out of the nests. I invite you to come fishing there sometime and think you could get some good photos as well. There is also an eagle's nest and geese on eggs. If you are at all interested I could send you some of my recent photos to give you a better idea of what's going on.

In any case, keep up the good work on CLT. Love the book, and someday I'll see you out fishing.

    Hey Shawn,
Did you find the Spanish off of Claibornes sharp edge or did you stay on the other side? I was thinking of getting out tonight and hitting that side of eastern bay. I did well with them there last year but have not tried yet.

Shawn..............this is John/Plasticfish93----------------------19' Twin Vee Cat. We have passed and spoken to each other several times at Metapeake and the Bridge.

Actually, based on my trip this past Wed. ( 1:30--5:30) almost no flow at all on the East side.-----------------I believe that your answer of "Construction" would have been correct. This was my 8th outting at the bridge....I suffered my first "no keeper size first". Got 3 at 17" and a few about the size of my BKD.. Hope for better luck this week.

John---I have a trailer in Beach Harbor and keep my boat there.

Hi Bill -- Thanks for the comments. I use a Lowrance HDS-8. The bridge scan was done with the add-on structure scan unit.

    Shawn,

Thanks for the CCA presentation, lots of really helpful info, very generous of you to share all of that. I was wondering what GPS/Fishfinder setup you use? In one of the slides you showed a picture of a side scan near a piling with rockfish and baitfish easily discernable. I am long overdue for an upgrade and wondered what make/model you chose for your boat.

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hey Shawn,
I Always enjoy learning from you guys who share your experience so freely. Now for the GPS specifics (just kidding). I spent way too much time trolling this spring out of Mattapeake. Did pretty well, but passion is for LTJ and casting (a lot to learn there). I live right on Thompson Creek Road just across the street from you really. I'd give anything to find ramp access somewhere down around Kent Point. Any tips for casting top water and LTJ in the Poplar area. More interested in water depths and general location of fish holding up. Would be grateful for any advice. I'm also a fellow musician who would fish for a living if I thought I could make money at it. Check out my website if you like www.harrytraynham.com. Bring that fiddle out sometime and sit in with me. I'm at Fisherman's deck this Thursday 5;30-.
    Anyway,
    Good Fishing

I never think to look at this page. Sweetale1 - I always cut the engine. You can catch fish with the engine running, but you'll catch bigger fish with it off.

Norm -- The only one I have is a smallmouth pin. I lost the one he got for the biggest largemouth in the nation in 1963. I'll send my address.

When work the pilings at the bridge, do you cut your motor for the drift, or just put it in neutral?

Shawn-I have a Field & Stream pin that you can have to remember your Dad's big large mouth bass. I have quite a few and it would not be missed. Your welcome to it at no cost! Send me your address and its yours!

    Keep up your Conservation effort

Pretty sure it was you off Tilghman last evening.

Was going to stop by and introduce myself but I chased one pod and you (I think) chased another.

Been reading your posts on your website - really a nice job you do there.

    Shawn,

Do you jig through spring and summer also. Just wondering about that technique of fishing if it is as productive as trolling. I checked out your website and it looks like a blast. I love catching bull reds on light tackle and would love to hit the rockfish and enjoy the fight alot more.

Do you know anyone that may know this guy Tornese1? I would like to know who this guy is so that I can be on the alert?

Sorry to get everyone involved with this guy. As you know Brandon suspended him, but does not know his name. That is not a requirement to register on Tidalfish.

I am off to Florida for a few days. Hope to see you at the CBBT after that.

    Hope you are well.
