    Default blackfish recommedations

Just got bit by the tog bug and am in search of an outfit and tackle for toggin' inshore from a boat. Would you recommend an Ugly Stik over 100% graphite, hook sizes and styles, mono over braid or co-polymers. I'm starting from the ground up. Any suggestions?

Phil - no Tog. in the Patapsco so you better stick with Stripers. Actually I've been reading some tog. reports as a lurker 'cause I thought when at CBBT and Stripers stop biting on the slack tide that I might try for a tog or two, better to say feed them and loose some gear.[smile]

After you eat some Tog you won't care about the Stripers.

I've heard that, always like to try and target something other than Stripers from time to time.

Pool cue rod sturdy reel and you will be fine. Olser Fiberglass poles work great

I use a St Croix and a Rouge medium Heavy Rod with Penn 975 reels. I use braid with about 8' of 40-50# leader tied directly to the braid with a double uni knot. I then tie the rig out of this leader with a single dropper loop and loop for the sinker. Others use all kinds or multi - hook rigs with long leaders and are very good at getting snagged up in the rocks or wreck. I keep it simple as possible for Tog. If you're on a party boat you might want to go with a little heavier rod and larger reel, so you can use a bit heavier weight.

Thanks for the tips Mike, all in line with what I've been reading.
