Could someone comment on using live perch to catch Stripers?

you can try. did not read the link thoughtfully provided, but in my humble experience they do not like them much
They will eat them if that's what you can catch for bait- make sure that you cut the main dorsal sticker off as the perch will use this to jam up the striper when he is trying to swallow the perch. I've used them in VA and Delaware to catch big stripers after removing the dorsal spine.
Use them all the time. they work well. in the upper bay, also use sunfish & bluegills
live spot is the prefered but they are hard to get in the upper bay
also live LY's are deadly,if you can keep them alive
Absolutely!
Thank you all for the info. Thought I would get a chance to use the perch today. I aslo thought I read something in a fishing magazine about trimming the dorsal fin too, so last night I put some sheet metal snips on the boat. The perch are still alive in two 5 gallon buckets and Mr. Bubbles running. This A.M., on the way to Reedville, after leaving RWs, the left wheel on a single axle trailer about chewed through all of the lug studs. One stud was gone completely. Boat was parked all day, half in a ditch, up on a Ford screw jack, blocking a side street next to Northumberland HS. After going on a scavenging hunt from Callao to Kilmarnock we got it put back together. Had to buy new studs at one store, the lug nuts at another and not without using a nut splitter on a SS nut which retained the caliper. The boat is back home and the perch live on in buckets. I'll take them Saturday when another crew of mine will hit RR, in another boat!
I hate trailering! Sorry about the bad luck, get em on Sat!
Bull minnows work just a well as spot or perch, and they are often easier and less expensive to get.
how long will local minnows be around in the shallows?
