    Default Custom boat covers

Who makes an affordable cover in the surrounding area? I have a 196 Mckee and I have been told to not even consider a stock cover for quality reasons. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I hate to have the electronics exposed with all this rain!

I've got a I guess what you're calling 'stock' one from West Marine on my 19' SeaPro, had it for 4 years, no issues with it yet; think Dad ripped a few of the straps off when they didnt get tied up right and they got run over, but besides that its still doing fine. Does the job perfectly.

If you want custom canvas, check out the Ships Taylor in Whitestone, (think he might have a place in Deltaville too)

Jeanne Dwyer with Island Marine Canvas is usually half of what Ships Taylor quote...if you can get Ships Taylor to quote it. Her number is 804-776-0608.

Thanks for the info.If I can save some money I would consider going with a cover from West or Boaters World. Just heard horror stories about the quality issues.

Have to agree with JROCKET, got one 6 years ago for the 185 edgewater and now use the same one for the 196 Penncraft. Only use it when it comes out of the water for the winter but no problems what so ever with it.

Agree on Island Canvas... In Deltaville... Good prices and good work... Know lots of satisfied customers and I've had several different things from them constructed... Momma wants some furniture covered this winter and has already approached Jeannie.

Stay away form the canvas type boat covers and get a cover made of sunbrella. I had one made for a 19' boat and its been
on the boat over 10 years. The threads have been replaced but the fabric is still in good shape. All of the catalog companies have manufacturers who will make a custom fit cover. The one I had cost around $400. I was buying a new canvas cover every 2 years and spending ~$175 for these, so I felt like the sunbrella
paid for itself in no time. I believe the fabric itself carries a 5 year warranty and it comes in many different colors.

P.S. Island Canvas in Deltaville does very good work in a timely manner and the prices are very fair. She is located across from the Deltaville Market and West Marine. They did our vinyl curtains last week and they turned out great.
