started on the 670 with crew of 5 trolled north to get out of the mess. best action on the 839 150 fathoms. awesume day we had a marlin bite that did not come tight...leader chaffed up. ended with 15 tunas one citation most over 40lb mark. First 4 baites were on Nakeds then it changed to blk purple was the ticket in a am but they switched to pink around 9am. could not keep the downrigger down. I set one downrigger and the second I turned around it went off. I quickly went to the other downrigger set it and it went off on the way down. then the tunas come up and covered us up on the top baits. Tunas skying great day. remember if you are not getting a bite and you see fish being caught you have to change colors or change types of baits you are running. We pulled in the spreader bar because we were getting so many surface bites and the pain of using the bar but after we pulled it in we did not get another bite for and hour. but it back out and bamm bites around the bar but not on the bar itself. It acted like a big teaser for us. Thanks HitNrun for the information from the monday bite.

Double Post, Sorry.
Swan Caller, we were in the same pod of boats out there. I started in the same place and ended up above the 800. I was in a 26 Regulator w/ Reel Life on the side (which boat was yours?). We limited out at 1200 with buff tuna and saw the same with regards to bait colors. Heard some chatter about the marlin but didn't see the boat. We saw the tuna chasing blue fish coming out of thewater. Super Cool! Great Day and Congrats.

I was in a 25 hydrasport walk around with twin suzuki 200's. We were right beside the charter when he hooked up the rat blue. cool show by the little guy. we had a leader get chaffed up like it came from a marlin along with a couple mistery bites that we dropped back that did not come tight. You came by us when we were having a hell of a time with a 70lb stud.
My boat did not have a name on it.

I tried you on the radio, but we could barely get a radio check returned. I was onboard felix the cat with Owen.
We sold out on blue and white early. We got constant bites after that but had some bad luck here and there. We had a few pulled hooks, and a botched gaff job (but a lesson learned none the less) and went 3 for 7. All 40-50 lbers.
We did nothing on the planer

Great report! Nice to hear thry're still around like that. [excited]
Sweet wasn't it Mike.[grin][grin]
Hey Swan, are you using wire on your downriggers or heavy mono or dacron. I haven't used my downriggers this year as some think the sound of the wire hum scares them away. I meant to put dacron on them just haven't gotten around to it and was wondering if wire is ok.
