Owl's Creek is just West of it. Cross the bridge, turn right, can't miss the signs.

Todd, Yes, there is a good ramp at Rudi. It's actually called Owl Creek. If you are in down town VA Beach you just keep going south over a bridge out of town. The ramp will be on your right. This time of year you need to get there early because it can be full and you won't be able to park.

Thumbs up I Need Some Pullage

The ramp and location is great, but before launching take a good look at the pilings. Last year I saw that some were reinforced with concrete and they can put a hole in your boat on low tide.

theres no GOOD link for directions to the ramp.....However The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center is 500 yards PAST the boat ramp - take this link and click "How to get here".....on the right side bottom of the page.

Just to reinforce the get there early part. Last year we got a late start (7:00) due to some electrical problems. Line was over 2 miles. Worse part was they ran out of parking. You could launch your boat, but had to find parking elsewhere. We were fortunate that we had already had overnight parking at the fishing center. Dropped the boat in and picked the others up on the way out of the inlet.

We always make it a point to leave no later than 6:00, 5:30 on the weekends, depending on your boat size and inlet conditions (wave height at the inlet), you may want to wait for some light if you've never gone out there before.
Also, last season, there was a lot of trouble with someone going around during the day and UNLATCHING THE HITCHES ON TRAILERS!!! Some people did not find out until it caused some damage. Happened to us twice, so we always check before loading the boat. Otherwise Owl Creek is a good ramp....FWIF Tom

    Default Check the Securing Nut

Check the latch and securing nut. One time someone couldn't unlatch my trailer, because it was locked on, so they loosened the large nut that holds the 2" ball on.

A N D.......if its required, make sure you have an inspection sticker on your trailer. Or plan on paying the fine.
maps.google.com will pinpoint the ramp for you.
