I know you guys are hunters also, so here's the deal. I'm going on a pay Pheasant/Chuckar hunt, end of the month. We usually get a bunch of birds. Anyone ever deep fried them in the turkey cooker? Is peanut oil the best to use? How about skinned vs plucked. We usually skin the birds cause it's easier but I'll pluck them if thats best. Never done this before so would oil at 325 degrees and 3 1/2 minutes a pound work. I figure I can hook up 4 birds at a time on the hook do-dad that came with the cooker, or could several be put into the basket and lowered into the hot oil? Can ya stuff the bird with say corn bread stuffing, and the stuffing be cooked at the same time? Any info you can provide would be great. Thanks, T.
Croaker Man,
I cant help you with this my friend but if it all works and you have birds left could you bring some to SF4?
Or, maybe use cornish hens? Sometimes the little foodrite in Deale has smaller whole chix. Id be happy to bring some to help out.
Id love to be there when you try all this. I will be their in spirit.

If you don't go, you won't know and you gotta have bait in the water!
