    Question keel gaurd

    I was wondering if I can buy a keel gaurd for my kayak and where would I buy it at?

    They are too expensive, and not worth the investment for a plastic kayak. Just take care of you yak and it will last until a better one comes out (1-year)

    Can probably use the same stuff they sell for canoes. Most outfitters sell the kevlar (I think) material and glue as a kit. Check out Appomattox River Canoe Company.

    That's sounds like a good Idea.I have a 16ft.Carolina Skiff that I want to use on the Susky and don't want to bounce it off rocks like a ping pong ball.That just might work.I'm going to look into it.Where can I but these?Home Depot?

    where can you find what? the non skid stair tread/tape, or the kevlar material.

    The non skid stair tape.I'm thinking these are the rubber like step pieces that I could use on the bottom of the hull?

    they have rubber ones and they make a thin non-skid tape. you can get it at lowes or Home Depot.
