Any suggestions for a good yak?

For that size the OK big game, or the Malibu x-factor. Just make sure that he is up for paddling phisically as well.

Heritage Redfish 14' Nice boat, big payload. Also just saw the new Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game Angler. AWESOME. Haven't really paid much attention to Ocean's stuff but was blown away by the thought that went into this new part of thier line. I am a big guy, but was 175 Lbs heavier when I bought the Redfish. Liked it then, like it now. Good investment. Other boats to look into would be the Fish and Dive by Cobra and the Tarpon 140 by Wilderness, although I am not a huge fan of Wilderness' customer service. Great boats though.
