Default Where to buy good Ballyhoo near OI?

We Plan on being at the ramp at 0530. Is there anywhere to buy good Ballhyoo on the way down comming from VA?

Also, when you use them with Sea Witch, do you want the bait to skip or swim?

Lastly, which size ballys are best for tuna trolling now?

Thanks for hooking up this greenie.

I would but my hoos in advance. You will find it hard to find good quality hoos on the way down especially leaving the dock at 0530. Where are you coming from?

For tuna fishing I like my baits to swim, I use very light sea witch heads and make my pin rigs with 1/8 - 1/4 oz chin weights. A skipping balleyhoo also works, just make sure your baits don't spin.

Most popular size for YFT is Medium.

If you want more first hand information, send me a private message or an email to lmontagnaj@aol.com and I will respond. Chumlord is having a rigging seminar in his garage this Saturday and if you can make it you will learn a lot first hand. This will be HANDS ON.

    Good Luck!!!

Where you out of? If VB go to PA's and get some baitmaster's from anthony. I wouldn't rely on the fishing center having good bait. Everything else will probably be closed. If your coming down on Thursday try TW's. I haven't bought ballyhoo in a long time since I try to only use baitmasters. Make sure to get some bionic brine just in case. Go for mediums as the fish haven't been that small.

As far as pulling hoos, everything deep swims for me. The only bait I skip is one right down the middle off the t-top or maybe a short rigger. Good luck.

Yes, use PAD they have Baitmasters. In the future, possibly near future, depending on interest I can certainly put together another bulk order from Baitmasters. This way you won't have to sweat getting good bait any more.
