Did anybody watch NBC Primetime on tuesday night about the tech divers who were diving
in Africa in a 1000' deep gorge. The one guy went down almost 900'(aprox 864'). They say that more people have walked on the moon than someone has been at that depth via tech diving.
I read a few years ago a diver was trying differant gases at insane depths (500' +) he died at 900' due to a math error.Crazy to push it that deep. Two divers in the Great Lakes went to 450' or so but it was only to set a record. One dive book I read showed a woman at I think 800'-looked like she was wearing a "robot" suit. I'll stick to 130' and above. Skip
Its insane but you can look it up online I believe, try NBC.com.
Okay, I made a mistake Its ABC Primetime, you can go to ABC Primetime.com and the story is on the front page titled "The Outsiders" and the tech diver did go down to 876feet!!! Check it out.
....."doing what he loved"!!! Watched it. A sad story. Very smart fellow who took one too many chances.
Noup, my "friend" Narcosis shows-up around 125fsw now and just like the alarm clock you never have to set but you get up at the right time every morning.... you know you went too deep but I love the feeling. You can't spearfish what I like for dinner at 800', it gets hard to breath an the shooting stinks anyway, so why go there! LOL
