    Default O/T penn 6/0 reel

    hey guys just got a penn senator 6/0 reel for $90.00 and its in good condition so i want to know what i can catch with it, what type of line to load on it and how much line any help is more than appriciated

    Anything in the Bay and probably tuna up to 200 pounds with the right line. Craige (Mary E) PS If going offshore, you'll need 5 more!

    Standard is 50 pound test. it'll hold about 450 yards or so of 50.

    if it is an older model, i would definately get it cleaned up and put the new smoothy drags in it. if the drag slips at all the drag probably need to be replaced. i am going with 40# diamond blue. this year. last year i had 50# suffix hi vis. i have six of them and they will catch just about anything in the ocean.

    alright thank you all the dude told me the drag was replaced like 1 to 2 years ago im not gonna completely trust the dude so ill get it checked out he has like 50-80lbs test braided on right now he said its gorilla braid its new but he left a bit of room on the spool to be filled
