What's been going on fishing-wise on the river? Have'nt seen much about it lately. Anybody doing anything, or are you all gearing up for rock and the run to the Bay?

I haven't been out the last couple days, but started hooking up with some whites and yellows in several nooks and crannies the last time out. Pickerel were still present also, and were the fish I caught most. Same old thing, electric chicken on white 1/4 oz jigs and several different colors on lead 1/8 oz jigs. All fish caught above Cedar Point and close to shore.

    Just wondering

    Greg,

I screwed around just above the bridges for a few hours Saturday and worked over a few spots here and there. Action down this way was slower than it had been. I only caught a few pickerels and no perch. I didn't expect to see many perch and I was right. And oh yeah, it was butt cold.

Things have picked up at my pier again. Was the first time I fished in a month. Caught several pickerel on BA and minnows, biggest was low 20s. A nice suprise was the number of yellows that were there. Must have caught almost a dozen in a few hours on minnows under the neighboring dock. They were very aggressive, hitting the minnows as soon as they were wet. They were 8-10" , fat and strong. Had several kids along and they had a blast with the yellows on Scooby Doo and Spongbob rods. They were doing better than me, so much that I'm thinking of buying my own Scooby Doo for the boat.
