    Default Somedays...well just somedays...

took a small trip up to the Long Key Bridge as it was blowing big time out of the North and wanted to do some fishing...good thing fishing was the goal and not catching...even bait was tough today...fished the last of the incoming and the first 3 hours of the outgoing and the best I could do was a big Houndfish ( about 4 ft) that ate my live bait under a float...he jumped ...he cartwheeled ...he did just about everything except climb one of the power towers along side the bridge ...but he still came in, getting him unhooked and letting a couple of kids look at him I tossed him back over....right into the jaws of a waiting Mega Cuda...ate that sucka in two passes...nothing but the head drifted away...saw a bunch of big rays patrolling the bridges...makes the Cownose rays in the Chesapeake look like dwarfs...then just before packing it in here comes the most gorgeous Bald Eagle riding the uplift off the bridge ... gliding southward with out so much as moving a feather...fifty feet over my head and lit up beyond words by the afternoon sun...called it quits and followed him south ... back to Marathon and a grilled grouper sandwich at my local watering hole...watched a gorgeous sunset and the Braves game...OK Easter for this guy...
