I would spend all my time chasing you down for even suggesting such a horrible fate![]()
What would you do if you couldn't crab for fun any longer?
How would you spend the time/money previously devoted to crabbing?
Shooting one's self is not an acceptable response!![]()

Personally, I have no problem sitting down and have someone cook them, serve them & clean up the mess. It's faster, less expensive & guaranteed to get all you can eat crabs when you want them.I could live with that without sorrow.
Fishing can be anything you want it to be

I guess I would stay home and do more domestic activities. Work on yodeling up the valley, stroke my mule, yell at the boys, scratch, sniff, belch, toot, pick my belly button, important things.
The money- probably buy crabs to eat, Home Depot would get a lot, SAMS Club too.
I dont want to talk about this depressing topic anymore.
I have my Topless C tpx tuned up and ready for action.
Headed to Lewes next Thursday for our spring Tog trip.
Id probably spend more time and money fishing if I didnt go crabbin now that I think of it.

Go back to nursing in the OR and working with a bunch of women....Taking a break from that to crab full time..But if I had to I would..You wouldnt beleive what it is like working with a bunch of women who seem to have they same cycle...CRAZY![]()
Spend even more on fishing. If I couldn't do that, spend more on hunting, If I couldn't do that, it's gonna' get ugly.
Probably spend it all on a therapist and some good meds to deal with the deperession. To lose my ability to do the above, would be serious sh__t. It is a true way of relaxing and relieving stress.

Jerry,
I saw that you posted the same question about fishing on the Ches. Bay Board.
My favorite outdoor activities are fishing, crabbing, motorboating (mostly to crab and fish) and paddling whitewater kayaks; I also hike, canoe and ride a mountain bike, and I enjoy hanging out on nice beaches like the NC outer banks. Those are the things that keep me sane and help with mental and physical fitness, I am not an exercise or health freak but I feel better when I am active and I love to get outdoors--especially since I have been a desk jocky for the past decade. If all else failed, I hope I could at least fish and crab off of the banks and docks.
I do worry about the day when I will not be able to do those things, I hope at the least my son will take me along and let me sit on his boat for some fishing and crabbing. Paddling a kayak in whitewater at 50 is a bit more challenging than when I was in my mid-20s, but I have plenty of motivation and so far so good.
I sincerely hope you are not contemplating an end to crabbing and fishing![]()
I guess I would do alot more fishing. I would love to have someone else steam and serve me steamed crabs and clean up the mess !! I could get up at a normal hour, s**t, shower, and shave, get dressed in nice clean clothes, go eat crabs, and still have plenty of energy to enjoy the rest of the day !!![]()

Guys,
Rest assured I have no intention of removing myself from the salt water scene. I am not, nor ever have been, a full time waterman, but I have been in, on, and around the water since..... well, let's just say all but 8 years of my life and for a lot longer than many of you have been on planet Earth.
Things happen sometimes that are (to a degree) out of our control and could cause us to have to adjust our lifestyles. We never know what's in store for us down the road of life.
The question I asked was intended to be taken seriously. I have a good friend who just learned that he has to move to Arizona. No salt water there! He recently started a new business venture that is doing very well, but cannot suceed in AZ due to the climate there. If something like that happened to me, and I HAD to make the move, I would be a very unhappy camper.
I am not very fond of fresh water fishing and golf is not an option so I have no clue as to what I would do to replace my salt water activities. I was/am curious what others would do in a similar situation. Nothing more than that..... thankfully. Thank you for your concern.
