I have not crabbed for many years as I have had a 26 foot boat. Now I have a 7 year old Son and a 14 foot boat. I want to teach him to crab as was done for me at his age. I remember you start in shallow water as it warms quicker....but when? Thanks
It really depends on the part of the bay you want to go, further south earlier crabbing. Weather and temps play a large role also. Seems like July to october is pretty good overall. Get out theireand try, that's the best way
My experience has shown that by the 2nd week of June, crabbing w/traps is worth the effort. Trotliners may have a different view.
