Fished around the pilings from 8:30a - 2p; tagged / released 7 undersized flounder, and kept one at 19 1/2". Also caught a couple of pretty good sized bluefish. Water temperature was warming from 55 degrees to 58 degrees by mid-day.
Flounder were regurgitating bay anchovies, and each one we caught had a bulging belly of bait so there must have been plenty of stuff in the water that we couldn't see for them to feed on.
THROW THE BIG ONES BACK
Thanks for the report Jake. Good to hear that things are strarting in that area.
We're trying to get a weekend when we can get down your way soon.
