Skate report 04-29-07

*sigh*...I thought we could catch some more flounder like we did the other week.. WRONG! skates everywhere. Caught them for 4 straight hours around the 3rd. Moved to the 1st, the same.. Came in to lynnhaven around dark for puppies,trout, bluefish.. WRONG! skates.. on our plastics, nothing on our hard baits.. What an aggravating trip..But beautiful sunset none the less.

My little bro. is the Chef for The Avalon, in Richmond. Apparently they have introduced skate to their menu (not in the form of scallops). I'm going to ask how he is preparing them. I may post a recipe. There's enough of them out there, it sure would be nice if we had a use for them.
