Took a kid and his Dad fishing at Fletchers yesterday...they are occasional fisherman, but not serious, so I just wanted to get them into some fish. The water was stained and not looking great, but I managed to scrape up some hickories, herring, white perch, and one big channel cat for the kid on Fishbites Bloodworms.
So I think they had fun, each caught about a dozen fish of 3-4 different species, gotta love a Dad and his son going fishing together.
Before they showed up I threw the fly rod for an 90 minutes and managed about 6 hickories, including one huge slob that went 21" No Americans.
I think tomorrow is gonna be perfect, give the water another day to clear...Tuesday is the day, fellas. GET OUT THERE before the end, which I fear is coming.
Here's my fishing log:

Glad I missed the Casting Call weekend... I forgot all about it. I too am looking to start at Fletchers from shore early Tuesday morning. Should be clear enough by then.
