Presently the IGFA has only one record catagory for Hickory Shad and that is ALL TACKLE. The fish was 2 lbs 8 ozs from the James River 26 Mar 2006. Hicks are fished all along the Atlantic sea board and its inland rivers. The "Poorman's Tarpon" needs to be set up with fly fishing line classes.
