    Default When Wachapreague ?

When does the fishing (Offshore) in Wach start getting good. Been there the last few years but problems always seemed to come up and I got there late. Should be ready to go anytime this year. Was planning to go the end of june unless we fish the MSSA tunament june 20 something.

Looking at the sst charts the water will be in the Norfolk in a couple of weeks. Historically first week in June Tuna start showing up on the hills (footballs) with the big blufish. I might try a little early this year if the water cooperates!!

I caught yellow fin on May 12th last year running from Wachapreague. I had to run
a long way out to get to them but I did find them. The warm water behind the Norfolk looks to be roughly about 75 miles out. I'm shooting to be in the water this weekend and if the water does not move any further out I'll be pushing off shore the weekend of May 19 and pointing that way.

Teaser is right, if you want to make a long run you can get them early, rarely does a warm eddy move in the area during May or June, although it did happen recently.

For a pretty much sure bet on the lumps and hills, look 2-3rd week of June almost always.
