What a bunch of $hit!
Well it was someone w/ base access or they were w/ someone w/ base access.
Are you on the locked piers by the cleaning station?
Evan.
Just to letthose of you know who moor at Cove Marina:
Last night between 7:30 P.M. and 10:00 A.M. this morning some &$%hole broke into the boat and took some gear out of the boat! Looks like insurance company will cover the damage and loss but what a hassle and "so long $500 bucks"!
If any one was down there last night and might have seen anything I would appriciate thier input and if anyone moors there please be aware so it doesn't happen to you! Unfortunately these things seem to happen in strings.....![]()

There is a something called the "personnel claims act"...for people who suffer losses because of military service...what that means is that anything that happens on base (up to 40000 dollars) and you suffer a loss, you can file for reimbursement with appropriate documentation (a police report usually suffices)..also if"...no part of the loss was caused by any negligent or wrongful act of the claimant or an agent or employee of the claimant"...which means that you had to have had the stuff locked up...I just looked it up, you have to be active duty...if you are, they will reimburse you your deductible...
I am at the transient pier (8)!
I'm guessing they haven't got that lock fixed yet on the gate. I am going down there later this evening. I will start spreading the word to others that this is happening. I have had, and so has a buddy, live baits stolen from our dockside pens. One weekend I will have to spend the night on the boat and see if we can figure out who the jerk(s) is that is doing this stuff.
Sorry to here your lost cbdaddy thats a bunch of $hit. I was on that pier. Now on the floating pier for the last year and a half. Ill keep my ear open you just never know any more.
Sure hope they get caught.
Once convicted they deserve to have their hands chopped off with an axe. F-EM

Hope you catch the culprit and have a chance to set the hook, scale, gut, and filet him.
Do you still have the same home email address, Wayne? I want to get in touch by home email or phone and get you and the family over here for a "beach day" when I'm here this summer. I'm at the beach house now (Sat 19 May 0630) waiting for appliances to be delivered, then it's to Little Creek and the CBBT. Feel free to ring me on the landline 464-4771. Everybody is up this morning and we'd be very glad to hear from you.
Coop is livin' large, deployed to Guam. What a happy Seabee the Navy has out there!
Best regards to the family and to you,
Foy
Sorry to hear your stuff was stolen. I was there early Thursday morning but didn't see anything unusual. This is my 4th year at Cove and I've never had anything stolen or messed with which for me was a strong selling point. Now that they've gotten away with it once, I won't be surprised if they try it again. I'll keep a closer eye on the piers as I work around the corner at NNWC.
That just plain sucks! I don't understand how anyone thinks it is easier to be a thief than it is to just get a job, save your money and buy whatever your heart desires. The alternative is always looking over your shoulder wondering when you are going to get caught! Sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully you can get your deductible reimbursed. Good luck!
