Virginia landing

I'm heading out this weekend with some family to virginia landing, this will be my first time. Hoping to try some fishing in the area ? My wife's family has a boat down there but their not really into fishing. What's the fishing like in the area ? What kind of tackle should I consider bringing ? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I primarily fishing in the mid to upper chesapeake.

Where is Va landing?

It's in Qinby VA, the camping area is called Virginia Landing. I saw on the map that Hog Island Bay is right there.

I am not at all familiar with that area, but from looking at it on the aerial maps, it looks VERY fishy......I would bring an assortment of bottom rigs, sinkers and hooks, as well as a couple of floats....the puppy drum and maybe some bigger ones should be up in the back waters and bay area of Hog Island Bay......and I am sure the croaker and maybe even a few spot are there by now.......and.....FLOUNDER should DEFINITELY be on your target list....get with a local bait shop when you get out there......Eastern Shore Outfitters is in Exmore.....Chris Bait and Tackle is better , but about a 40 minute drive back south....good luck and tight lines!
