Default Late Friday Drum Fishing report

"Fishing, not Catching" Mike and myself set out from Lynnhaven around 3:30 ish and headed to my favorite spot on the shoals to catch the last of the outgoing and first of the incoming. The weatherman was a little off calling for SW winds but we were surprised by steady SE 15. Even though it got a little nasty we managed to fish the last of the incoming tide with only two runs. Mike pulled the hook on the first fish and the only bite I had dropped the bait before I could get a hookup. Then the tide stopped before dark and we didnt get any current going out for the next couple of hours. Headed in at 830 with that funky smell all over the boat. Didnt feel like fighting the crowds the rest of the weekend so that was it .

That's what our boat smelled like to Craig...tried hailing you at dark but I guess you were running or back at the dock.

We stayed a got a few stripers casting to the islands.
