Default Who's Coming the JP Williams' Next Thursday?

John Page Williams has invited the SRRKC Bretheren to gather at his place on the river on Thursday, July 5 to explore some grasses, play with the seine and cast nets, and do a little fishing.

He's got 4 canoes and plenty of space for kayaks... unfortunately, there's no place to tie up other boats, so we'll need to drive there.

JP will be posting more info shortly. In the mean time, I wanted to get an idea of how many would be available / interested in coming out for this.

    Hope ya'll can make it!

I am going to try hard to be there. It'll be my first day back at the office, though, so leaving early is iffy. I will also talk to JP about lending my canoe to the effort, if it's needed.

I'm hoping to be there. There's no were to tie up, but is there room to anchor and paddle up? I plan to barrow a kayak from a friend and would like to come by boat. I guess the other question is where does JPW live approx?

If parking is an issue, I can seat 12 in my beast, I'm pretty sure I'm going.

Yes. You can anchor just off the first shoal and you'll be feet from the grass beds.

90% sure I'll be there - unless something at work goes wrong.
Sounds like a great evening. Thanks to JP for the opportunity

    Default Greetings from Santorini

Gents. I would love to join the canoe tour but I am currently several thousand miles away in Greece. I am writing this note from a beach front cafe on Santorini island. I got up early and snorkeled for an hour while the rest of the family stayed in bed. The water is crystal clear but I saw no fish larger than about 10". The Greeks have fished their local waters hard for thousands of years. As a result, most of the medium and large fish are located far from shore. I have never found a fishing charter available in this area.

    Have a good tour.
