Angry USPS Stole My Inshore Rods

I fished in Canada the last week of June. My Aunt in Wisconsin sent my rods priority with delivery conformation but without insurance on July 2nd. Still no rods and no word where they are. 3 St. Croix, 2 All Stars, 2 Shimano, and 1 Ugly Stick. Over $500 in rods plus the $50 Rod Tube. I can't believe she didn't insure them. I can't sue either because they are Federal and protected under something called a Tort Act.

    Just Venting,

    Butch

Default "Stole" is a strong word!

    Hey Seagrass,

"Stole" is a pretty strong word.

I'm one of those fortunate folks who's never lost anything in the mail but I know that it happens and I understand your frustration.

Send me a BMail or Email and let me see if I can't help.

I'll need to know what the package looked like... What were the dimensions?

What was the Delivery Confirmation Number?

What was the return address and the delivery address on the piece?

On what date was the package mailed?

Since it was mailed to Canada it may well be stuck in the Canadian Post system but I don't mind giving it a look if you'd like.

It takes a VERY long time for packages to get through Canadian customs. Often several weeks. Nobody stole your rods ..... they will show up very soon.

Snail I appreciatte any help. Sorry about the stole thing just venting. After 22 days I'm alittle upset. It only took 3 days to mail them up there. I sent you a bmail with all the info.

They were mailed from Janesville Wisconsin by my Aunt not from Canada. The only reason I mail them is so the airlines don't loose them. I still can't believe that my Aunt didn't insure them.

    Tight Lines,

    Butch

    Hey Butch,

You didn't hear it from me but insurance is a pain in the butt anyway. It would probably take you a year to collect on the insurance even if it was insured.

I got your bmail. I sent you my office number and email. I'm not going to be in the office until late tomorrow afternoon but I'll take a look and see if there's anything that I can do.

I'll give you a call within the next couple of days.

UPS sucks! I bought a set of very expensive chevy heads on ebay and the ups driver dropped one in my driveway and cracked it badly. She said she was sorry but when I pressed UPS to pay for the head they refused as they said the head was not propperly packaged for shippment. Unreal! I asked them why THEY accepted it for shipping if it wasnt properly packaged but they had no answer. Cost me $350. 00
I use the post office and ship priority mail with delivery confirmation

    Default I feel your pain

Over the past year I have had several documents and merchandise go "missing" that were sent via USPS to my PO box.

Hey guy ......... first ..... this guy is talking about the postal service and not UPS ...... second .... take them to court ...... even small claims court ........ they will probably pay up rather than fight you ........ companies do their best to get away with stuff because people will usually drop it when they are told no ....... when pressed they usually cave in ....
