Default 42 & Cell Area Saturday

Didn't get over until 7:45 this morning. Weather man called for 1 footers, ended up being 2-3 footers. Right snotty this morning. Ended up with 3 keepers up to 21 inches, and 5 throw backs. Not a good day. Must be the heat. That's why it's called fishing!!

You did get a few, so all in all not too bad a day. Yeah the weatherman seldom gets it right as we all know, atleast there was a breeze! Those 100 degree days w/out a breeze are miserable! Bet it was nice when you got back on land though, 74 degrees @ my house!

    Thanks for the report,
    DB

    Default Thanks for the Post

Frank and you got some meat in the box. Been on vacation for a week and have baby duty next weekend so it may be some time before I get back out there - wife is getting some time away before hunting season starts.

TBear is so used to loading the boat that a good day for most of us would be only an average or poor day for Frank. I know because I've fished with him. He gets two or three to my one most of the time. Besides that he usually gets the big fish money too. So listen up Boys and do what the Bear says!

Went out Sunday to 42 and only cought one. Luckily it was a keeper 20.5 inches. Seemed to be very slow for everyone.

    Dave,
I appreciate the kind words, but it has really been slow. Not going this weekend, I have a retirement party to attend Saturday, but from what I hear it is suppose to blow up through Saturday afternoon. Looking forward to the next time.
    Good luck to all.

Fished there Friday, and struck out. Had one keeper - 20", tagged only 2 small fish, caught 2 nice croakers and a mess of toads, and headed back across to the Rapp for some spot action, but didn't find it. I tagged a 7" flounder (that's a record small for me), and we put 3 spot in the boat....I told the captain (my father-in-law) that I would do much better sitting on his dock in Locklies Creek with a crab hand-line in one hand, and a cold one in the other. That turned out to be a much better plan. Ended up with some nice crabs, and the cold ones made me even happier!
Headed to OBX for a few days with the wife and kids next week - hope to catch a few. I tag a bunch of fish at the Bonner Bridge at OI every year. By the way - the Va Gamefish Tagging Program is giving out extremely nice T-shirts this year with a beautiful speck on the back about to engulf an unlucky crab.
