Tough weather but I found them

Headed out of Deale this morning intending to go way south, but by the time I got to the radar towers I was beat up so I headed to the eastern shore, where I found birds and breaking fish near Sharp's. Nothing big but good action for a while. Somehow the tip section of my 8-weight was broken so I used my 10-weight; it cast the 7-weight Rio Lake line just fine. No blues, which surprised me; lots of rock to maybe 16 inches.

By the time that was over it was calmer but I didn't want to stay out late so I came home. The water was a nice color in mid-bay although visibility still only max 4 feet.

Saw about 20 pelicans near Tilghman.

Pelicans are all over the place this year. In eastern bay there's a little 0.5 acre Island called Bodkin, aka, bird poop island. The last couple of weeks I've seen 100 or more pelicans on this island. I haven't been lucky enough to find them diving in good concentrations like the CBBT yet but I've seen one here and there and every time I went to investigate where one dove, there was a decent amount of bait in the area.
