    Default full report 8-2 8-4....

left owls creek for the cigar on 8-2. Stopped at the weather bouy first boat there and got nada. Worked south east until we came to a weedline at the 175. Followed it inshore all the way to 10 fathoms and caught 10 nice gaffers off of it. On the line the planer gets slammed and its a white that crosses over the weedline. It was nice to have the bridled planer rod so I could take off the planer and fight him stand up. Also had a wahoo about 30 lbs up to the boat but he pulled the hook. We were the only boat on the weedline and we bailed 30 mahi before calling in some other boats looking for bailers. Bite ended at 11 for us.

    40 mahi
    1 white release

8-4 left OC at 3 am. Started fishing at 530 looking for a tuna bite. Nada until I switched out the tuna gear for marlin/mahi baits. We were at the 850/150 by ourselves and we were in some real nice water. First hit was a white marlin that jumped the hook. We were running the planer all day both days. Black and purple or pink spoon seemed to be the hot colors. Nice hit same area and we boat a 45 lb wahoo and a 30 lb wahoo within 10 minutes. While we are fighting the secoond wahoo a white piles on the flat dink I think I was leadering the wahoo I dropped the leader and tried to hook up the white but he popped the clip jumped once and took off. An hour later the short rigger pops and I drop it back feel him take it wait....nothing he slams the long rigger(blue/white sea star) and the fight is on. 150 small blue marlin we get the release and he swims away pissed. We fished there for 2 mores more and called some other boats to the area that were not having much luck and I think a few got marlin and later in the day when we had left I could hear of a decent tuna bite. Tried to bail the weeds in 30 fathoms and then again in 15 fathoms but to no avail.

    2 wahoo
    1 blue
    jumped off 2 whites

not a bad couple of days....

Congrats on two good days of fishing and the release.

Thanks for networking with us Connor. It just wasn't meant to be for us Saturday. I have thought it over a thousand times and there is nothing we could have different.

Default Now I know where youv'e been hiding.

Conner, what's up? Congrats on the bill's. I've been playing catch up during the dog days but did find the time to dial in the kite fishing a couple weeks ago. Talked to Lee tonight & got the word on the next hungry batch on the fliers. Watch the OI reports if the wind can at least stay above 12 knots in the next couple days.
I just got back last night and I'm already planning the next adventure.

Only the truly ate up understand the maddness.

    Bill.
