Got out early on Saturday. around 8, I caught a 15 inch football bass that was literally fact as a football. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish I am catching this year. Numbers are low, quality high. fished 3 hours got out before the heat.
Water was a foot higher than a week ago. A lot of the SUV was washed away, making for easy passage. Lure of the Day=Tube. Not bluegills which is a suprise.
Total bass 2 including 15 inch and 12 incher.

Total Bass for the Year 90. This is probably my lowest year to date total in 20 years.
But I an happy about quality and I am fixated on smallies now.

I haven't done any lower potomac or much pond fishing like other years. Fishing the LP can inflate your catch numbers but I do not want to fight with the airport traffic.
That said, you can catch 20-40 bass a day on the LPotomac is you hit it right in October or November ! Fishing season starts for real after Labor Day !
