    Default Repainting A Motor

I have kicker motor that I want to repaint.

Any suggestions for a durable paint system that will withstand the salt or will any good exterior grade primer and paint system work as long as the preparation is good.

You'll need zinc cromate (sp) primer, get it at Boaters World, or West Marine. Same prep as if you were doing body work, coarse to fine sand paper then cover primer w/ what ever color, if it's a newer motor most of the stores sell matching outboard paint. R/Chip.

I agree - always use the zinc primer on any aluminum you intend to have paint stick to!!

don't ask me how I know..... just take my word on it!!
