I agree with the Polomar Knot. Real easy to tie in light or dark.

OK lets carry this one step further. What knot would you use to tie the braided line to flurocarbon leader without any swivel. I have used the Albright Knot but loss a nice rockfish and it looked like the flurocarbon pulled through the braid knot. Any suggestion as to a better knot to use that results in a small knot that will pass through the guides when being cast.

    Thanks

ever seen one of the tools below from bass pro ? i carry one on my keychain every where i go . if i dont do the improved clinch as stated above i use this tool to tie every other knot i tie. this in the best by far for LINE TO LINE knots i have ever found. if you saw the videos from last weekend we were using 50 pound stren super braid tied to a 100 pound mono leader. 14 catfish fish all over 30 pounds and never lost a single catfish fish.

I love this little tool !!

OK Jamie: The next time I go to Bass Pro I'll see if I can pick up one of those "Fast Tie" tools. Thanks for the tip.

    Hi Fellow TF'r,

I was going through the same problem. The Polamar Knot does work.
I promise this will not slip.

Power Pro, recommends 2 knots for tying terminal tackle, the Palomar, and the Uni knot.
Power Pro rates the Uni knot as a stronger knot, than the Palomar knot when tying terminal tackle.
The Palomar knot is easier to tie for most people.
I have never had a Uni knot come loose when using Power pro.

I tie an improved clinch knot but double the braid first.I just double about 8-10 inches-then tie normal.Never had it slip.I take 6-7 turns.

I like a surgueons knot to join leader to braid or a back to back Uni-knot.Avoid the blood knot-the braid seems to cut itself with this one.Fine for mono to mono though. Skip
