They were crushed for time, all in all it was a pretty reserved affair. Howard ran the meeting as the chair was absent, they just touched on perch at the end of the meeting, it doesn't appear that they are going to have a final form of proposed perch regs by next Tuesday's public forum...Most of the time was devoted to talking about fossil shell dredging and why it has been curtailed, quotas between pound netters and hook and line guys and some abuses that have taken place, and the issue of what is up with crabs, which look to be overharvested this year if we keep up at the current pace...
Go back to sleep. I'm sure you know everything about crab pots since you're out on the water every day.
BTW, I have to powerwash pots tomorrow. You and Chum are more then welcomed to come to see just how much those fouled pots catch.
Look, I'm quite certain that you plant your pots in the Sargasso Sea, OK? But for much of the rest of the galaxy that encompasses the Chesapeake Bay, a Bay with an SAV problem I might add, I can tell you that pots can happily live without getting fouled hourly like you report...Additionally, if they are such fabulous habitat to begin with wouldn't it make sense that creatures that like to eat other creatures would be waddling about trying to find something tasty to, well, eat in this fabulous habitat?
Why yes I guess that would make sense, Chum...
Darn right it would...
And what happens when stuff swims, pokes, or otherwise gets curious around a crabpot, Chum?
Why maybe they go inside to look around...
Really?
Yes, really...
And how do those pots work again?
Well you see, the whole concept is things go in but they can't get out...
