Good stuff Capt.B! Sounds like a little bit of heaven.
Had a bit of cooler weather lately and a daily dose of thunderstorms (some times several a day) for the last week and it's really turning the fish on.
Since I bought my place on Grassy Key in July, the fishing out back has been Ok...nothing ground shaking but steadily sporadic with nice fish coming up on the flats.
the last few days with the water temp dropping a few degrees ( the surface actually feels cold to us snorkelers compared to what it was) the fishing has gotten remarkedly better.
Larger and more numerous Tarpon, Permit, Snapper (after dark) Snook have been cruisin' the Mangroves. Sharks have been showing up in the basin by the fish cleaning station, I managed to put a nice Black Tip in the cooler after the appropriate filleting and steaking, he took a snapper head in 18 inches of water, and he was not at all happy about the way the fight was going...
can't wait to see how it's going to progress, in the next few months when it gets really good. by then my newly purchased Key Lime and Lemon trees will have some fruit and I'll be a grillin' fool...
Lobster Tail with key lime butter and Grouper fingers with a lemon Butter....Yummmm!
Good stuff Capt.B! Sounds like a little bit of heaven.
YOU LUCKY dog, keep us posted. Great reading thanks
