    Default "Air" Sturgeon

Anchored at the mouth of the Appomattox River on Saturday (a bit to the west near shore beside a small building with some pumps running) and just happened to be looking at the right patch of water at the right time... from about 25 yards away we got a clear view of a 6' sturgeon putting a good 3' of air between himself and the water. Made a pretty spectacular sound when he hit the water, too. Quite a sight if you get a chance to see it.

Fishpirate.......I was out on the water at that time too....but down towards Hopewell fishin' by the P. Reserve Island.. Finally got off the water around 2:00 so I could get home and watch the race and I'm glad I did.....last 10 laps were great....and of course so was the finish!! 24 I was out of my chair yelling so loud that the dogs were freakin' out.

Nothin' big, just about a dozen 10 and below lbers today....by 11:00 it really sux'd being out on the water with all the joy riders out....pain in the A.. I finally gave up dealing with all the wakes and headed up towards DB.
Got my new ride on Friday night, so I'm a happy camper right now!! Had to put 150 miles on her Friday night and Saturday morning, just to cruise and listen to the 368 watts stereo with 7 speakers....it definitely rocks!

I seen a couple jumping about 6 weeks ago about 1 mile above jordon point. Looked like 60 lb cobia but I new it wasn't a cobia. Seems like with all the sighting more would be caught. Out west they use live bait to catch them???
