Great report!! Looks like south was the ticket... Where is mr TUNA!!! Needs to cool down a bit I guess. Not use to high 80's in Oct. Thanks again for the report.
Fished aboard the 35 Carolina Classic Deep Seadation with owner Brad, My buddy Mike and Julie Ball. Dropped in on the 450 line at the temp change 71-73.5 in 30 fathoms trolled north but the line broke up and heard everyone up north not doing much so at the 485 turned and worked the line south finally at the 350 got a nice 35lb wahoo couple more knockdowns that we missed and then found the gaffers. Worked the large mats and every pass we'd see them running out grabbing every rig. They even were pulling on the teasers. It was fun with 3 anglers good thing otto pilot took over while I ran back to gaff the fish.
One big grass mat had 50 or so gaffers under it after cleaning one of our fire drills up I bumped us over to the mat and they all came to the back of the boat we weren't set up for bailing and they wouldn't touch the hoo's unless they were moving.
Called a buddy in and he cleaned up bailing em till they were tired. After the crew was over catching gaffers and wanted something else we trolled se along another line all th eway out to the 800 line 500 fathoms picked up more gaffers with more big mats full of em. Found the whales and tried for a tuner but no luck packed it in at 3:00.
Also big thanks to the High Octane boat that gave us 3 bags of ice our genset was overheating and the chill boxes were thawing they saved the day for us.
Only saw 2 other boats all day most of the time we fished alone I love fishing away from everyone when it works.
Final tally 10-??? on gaffers lost count of the ones we missed or tried to throw in the boat when we didn't want to wait for the gaffAll gaffers 8-15lbs no big ones.
One 35 lb Wahoo

Nice Report. The Dolphin Are Big Right Now. We Did Release Some Micro Dolphin. We Would Be In Jam Without Them. Calvin
Scott,
Nice job on the Dolphin and Hoo. We heard you on the radio, but we were north of the Canyon and didn't think we could run down there in time. We scratched out a nice 60 lb yft working the two-tones, but that was about it.

What about the drunk guy?? Did he get to go this time? I miss him!
Nice job on the Mahi!
No "drunk guy" this time. Morning departure was nice and uneventful. We needed some extra crankers at times but needed em sober with the chinese fire drills when all the lines went down a couple times.
I can vouch, no drunks....pretty sweaty folks, though!
Thanks for the trip Scott, Brad and crew!![]()
