    Default Mobjack Bay Flyfishing

Visiting my bro in Gloucester next week (Wed/Thurs/Fri) and will be flyfishing/light tackle Ware/North River and Mobjack Bay. Can anybody tell me how the fishing has been in that area, what species I can expect, and where to focus my efforts? This will be my second visit to the area. Last time was in late spring/early summer and we found lots of croakers but that was it. Hoping the weather change has a positive affect? Thanks all.

Some seatrout, specs, pups and of course croaks and flounder.

You should post your question in the fly fishing forum as there are several that live or fish on MJB that post there...

    Good luck.

I'd be very interested to hear how you do on the trip, I've had no luck whatsoever in the Mobjack this year. Depending on the size of your boat, you may have some luck with the schoolie rockfish out past the light house if the conditions allow.

Will post how we fared in Mobjack next week. Will be fishing Wednesday evening, and a good amount on Thursday and Friday so we'll be covering a lot of ground and time on the water. Hoping the cooling weather gets things going.
