Default There are some common people out there

I went to trim shooting lanes at my tree stand today (now yesterday). When I got to my stand, this is what I found.

Some loser loosened my strap up, cut the rope I had on the steps going to the tree (to keep it from kicking out), and pushed it off the side of the tree. It's hanging by the chain. I think they would've stole it if I didn't have a loggin chain and 2 Master locks holding it on.

The stand is one my dad and I made. It's made out of 1/8'' thick 2'' square tubing and is 15ft tall. It's heavy! I tried to swing it back around but was only able to get it to move about an inch. I'm going tomorrow with 2 buddies to see if I can right it back onto the tree for opening day on Saturday. If not my climbing stand will have to do. Common bastards.

That is a common occurence in Delaware! I have had several stands stolen with the chains cut and pegs gone. What pisses me off more than that is, what in the hell are they doing on private property? It chaps my ass when people think they can just walk on to a piece of property and hunt, fish or even walk for that matter! I have this problem all the time because land in this shit hole of a state is obsolete! Sorry about your luck but at least they didn't get it and hopefully you run in to them on your property and deal with them a different way!

    Default Stolen Stands

I was new to a hunting group a few years ago and was just learning the lay of the land. I picked a spot I liked and put up a ladder stand. Came back a couple of weeks before the season and it was gone. So being stupid me I put up another in the same spot. On opening day of black powder season I headed for my stand. I immediately notice that my flags and brite eyes were gone. Pulled the 4 wheeler off the trail and, guess what, my stand is gone.
Although I never caught up with them, it turns out to be two guys in club that stole them.
It would have been a simple matter for them to have called me and griped. I would have gladly moved them.
We built 4x8 tower stands on the other side of the property 12 feet up. They haven't tried to steal them yet. The two brothers got tossed out of the club for trying to steal a 4 wheeler off of another member's truck. White Trash

I don't know if you have bears but thats the way alot of our stands look like when they want to play.Especially if your stand is salt treated. They will chew them in half.If you dont have bears then you have some common bast#@@$$$..

Unless the bears have learned how to loosen a ratchet strap, I don't think it was bears. Whoever done it also cut the rope I had going from the steps to the tree to keep it from kicking out. I've never seen a bear in our woods. I believe our county usually averages 1 to 3 bears each year.

Regardless, some friends and I got it back up and going on Friday. I used it all opening weekend. I got to see 9 deer and 12 turkeys going on their merry way. It was a grat openeing weekend even though it lacked a kill on my part.

My hunting buddy had the same thing as Twud happen this year, we are new to a club and he bought a nice two man ladder and we found a spot, and other must not of liked the placement and instead of communicating they just took it, it stinks, of course no one will own up to it but with his trail cam being stolen early this past summer we are pretty sure it was teh other "club" members, i just will hump in my climber, or use an old stand

When I found the stand like this I had a tree picked out before I walked out to go up in with my climber had I not been able to right it. Thank goodness for some good, helping friends. I love using the climber for the facts that it goes with you and it gives you so much mobility. What I hate though is going up or down a tree in the dark. Also, even though I have one of the lightest climbers (Summit Viper) it's heavier than what I have on my back when I'm hunting out of my big stand (nothing).

    Common a___holes.

Ricky as a boost of confidance for climbing inthe dark, carry two flashlights and get theri AT LEAST 1-15 minutes before you really need to be and TAKE YOUR TIME!!!

There are some mornings when from getting to my tree to being ready to hunt during bow season it takes me 25 minutes to get settled. Don't rush and take your time.

Ever since I started wearing my harness while going up and down the tree I feel 100% better all the time.
