    Default 10/16 Bush river

Went out today between 2-4pm on the BR just past the sub test area. In around 9-10ft with 30 traps only caught large crab in about 7 runs. Normally do ok in the br, not today.

find deeper water. That cold snap last week put them off and sent them a bit deeper I think. I crabbed Middle River 2 sundays ago and caught 2 bushel in a few hours, surface temp 73-74. Last Sunday I went back to the same place 10' deep and it took me 4 hours to catch 3 dozen, surface temp 65-66. There are reports here suggesting they went to deeper water...14-19'. you might have to travel to the Patapsaco to find water that deep. The best I could find was one small hole at the mouth of the middle river that is 13'. I don't crab the upper bay regularly so I don't know too many deeper holes, but I do know the Patapsaco has some.

Thanks for the info, Spoke with a guy yesterday who said the same thing about deeper water. This is my second full year of crabbing so the advice is appreciated.
