    Smile 11 & 1/2 Pound FLOUNDER

Left Taylors Landing 7:30 a.m. with Josh; and Wade and his father Dave from North Carolina, straight to the third island casting for Stripers. Ended up with one Striper and had a brain lapse. Thanks to Capt. Rease who rightfully asked me to slow down, and my apologies to the boaters near me at that time.

We then decided to fish between the third and fourth island live baiting for Flounder with no results. Then decided to go to bouy 16 and had absolutely no results as the east wind picked up. Finally decided to go to my honey hole near the first island live baiting and on our third drift Wade (who has never Flounder fished before) yells that he's snagged. Josh yells back that the pole is going up and down and that he must have a fish on. When reeling the rod doubles over and when it gets to the surface it was so big that Josh centered the net under the Flounder and lifted straight up and when we put it on the deck Josh sat on it because it was flopping so much. The Flounder was 29 and 1/2" long and its width seemed as wide as its length. Stan Gold, Captain of "Blind Date" took some pictures from his boat and is going to post them later. A tough day turned out to be a good day.

Congratulations on a great catch. That must be a very thick fish.

Congratulations. What a great fish for someone who hasn't fished before.
